What is Safety Town?

Safety Town is a comprehensive accident prevention and awareness program for children entering kindergarten in the West Deptford School District. During this two-week course, children learn about dangers associated with fire, poison, strangers, traffic, transportation, home, playground, animals, and toys. They also participate in safety activities in the indoor classroom, as well as in a miniature town setting consisting of houses, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
